Tan Wee Jie

Game and Interactive Media Developer

I'm a third-year computer science student at SIT and DigiPen in Singapore, studying interactive media and game development. I build games in Unity and C# for live audiences, and interactive LED wall content in TouchDesigner.

Case studies

Four projects, told the way they actually went: what I tried, what broke, and what I changed.

Let's Build

A block-stacking game inspired by Ketchapp's Stack, played with one key. Instead of an endless tower, four stages each build one of the church's premises, so playing it tells the church's history.

Role
Solo developer
Built with
Unity, C#
Shown at
Heart of God Church, 3 weekends in October 2026

Slice the Fruits

A hand-tracked game inspired by Fruit Ninja that anyone walking past could play on an LED wall with a bare hand. MediaPipe tracks the hand, and the game sends its picture into TouchDesigner over Spout.

Role
Solo developer
Built with
Unity, C#, MediaPipe, Spout, TouchDesigner
Shown at
Heart of God Church, 2 Easter services, April 2026

Penalty Challenge

A penalty shootout for an LED wall, played from two iPads: one for the kicker, one shared by up to two goalkeepers. Web controller pages talk to the Unity game through a WebSocket relay.

Role
Solo developer
Built with
Unity, C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js
Shown at
Heart of God Church, July 2026, then a conference

Hook Spire

A 2D grappling-hook platformer by an 8-person team on a custom C++ and OpenGL engine. Includes the 0.12-second coyote jump I added after playtesting showed late jumps weren't registering.

Role
Programmer and designer
Built with
C++, OpenGL, a custom engine
Context
Software Engineering Projects 3 and 4, Sep 2025 to Apr 2026

About

I build games that people walk up to and play: a fruit-slicing game you play with a bare hand on an LED wall, a penalty shootout played from two iPads, and a stacking game that tells a church's history.

Since March 2022 I've volunteered in the Service Operations team at Heart of God Church, where I lead interactive content and three of the projects above ran at live services. I taught myself TouchDesigner from May 2024 and was teaching it five months later. In September 2026 I taught the Basic-tier syllabus I wrote to 15 people in one 2-hour session, built around a live MediaPipe hand-tracking demo on the LED wall.

I'm looking for an IWSP internship from May 2027 with a team building interactive installations, live experiences or games.
